A Little Something about me ...
I am a licensed acupuncturist with the State of Idaho and California. In addition, nationally certified as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine by the NCCAOM, National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Did you know that a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.) needs a Master's of Science Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MSTCM)? I studied In California, at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, where this is a 4-5 yr course of study. After graduation, I opened a practice in Roseville, CA and treated patients for 10 years prior to moving to Eagle, ID in June of 2018.
As a child, I was introduced to natural to healing by my grandparents.
My paternal grandfather was an herbalist who practiced Reflexology/Zone Theraphy in the 1950s. My maternal grandmother was American Indian who and used herbs & natural medicine on our family.
So the Healing Arts has been a natural expression for me, and I've been practicing in some capacity since 1997. Prior to becoming an Acupuncturist, I was a CMT (massage therapist) and operated HeartLight Massage in Fair Oaks Village, CA.
When I'm not caring for patients, I enjoy nature, my grandchildren, happy friendly people and everything that makes my heart sing!
I look forward to meeting and working with you. If you have any questions about whether acupuncture can address your concerns, please don't hesitate to ask me.
Warmly,
Cynthia Cates, L.Ac.
